30th Anniversary Cardiac Surgery Symposium at NYPQ

Statement of Need:
Rapid advances in cardiac surgery, perioperative management, advanced imaging, mechanical circulatory support, clinical research, and artificial intelligence have created significant knowledge, competence, and performance gaps across the cardiovascular care team. Variability in the application of evidence-based practices related to cardiac MRI interpretation, aortic aneurysm management, atrial fibrillation treatment, perioperative pain control, ECMO utilization, post-discharge care, and integration of emerging clinical evidence contributes to inconsistent care delivery. This activity is designed to enhance clinicians’ ability to apply current evidence, guidelines, and emerging technologies; strengthen skills in patient selection, risk assessment, and multidisciplinary care; and promote the consistent implementation of best practices across the cardiac surgical continuum. By addressing these gaps, learners will be better equipped to improve clinical decision-making, standardize care processes, and optimize patient outcomes.
